Dekton is an ultra-compact surface developed by Cosentino.
It’s neither natural stone nor conventional quartz. It’s a material made from a mix of minerals like porcelain, glass, and quartz, which undergo a high-pressure and high-temperature process.
The result is a very dense, non-porous, and extremely resistant surface.
In our studio, we mainly use it for KITCHEN DESIGN, but also in bathrooms, wall coverings, and even outdoors.
Why do we choose Dekton for our projects?
When designing and manufacturing custom furniture, the countertop material is key. And Dekton gives us peace of mind for several reasons:
High heat resistance
You can place a hot pot directly without fear. It’s ideal for those who cook a lot and want a practical kitchen.
Highly resistant to scratching
It handles daily use well. It doesn’t mean we should cut directly on it, but it holds up much better against wear than other materials.
Non-porous surface
It doesn’t absorb liquids or stains easily. This makes daily cleaning much easier and makes it a very hygienic option.
Perfect for both indoor and outdoor use
It resists UV rays, temperature changes, and humidity. That’s why we also use it in outdoor kitchens in Mallorca.

What do we use it for in our projects?
At Aina Vallés, we incorporate it into:
- Kitchen countertops
- Large-format islands
- Wall coverings
- Bathroom furniture
- Outdoor kitchens
- Custom tables
In KITCHEN DESIGN PROJECTS IN SÓLLER, MALLORCA, and SIERRA DE TRAMUNTANA, it’s one of the options we most recommend when the client seeks durability and low maintenance.
What finishes does Dekton offer?
One of the advantages is its aesthetic variety.
There are collections that mimic marble, natural stone, concrete, or smoother, neutral finishes. Plus, it allows for large-format pieces, reducing joints and giving a cleaner visual result.
When designing a kitchen, we always choose the finish based on:
- The natural light of the space
- The type of furniture
- The style of the home
- The real use the kitchen will have
Because it’s not just about being beautiful, but about making sense.
Is Dekton for everyone?
Not necessarily.
We always explain the advantages and disadvantages of each material before making a decision. Our job is not to impose a brand, but to give proper advice.
In our CUSTOM KITCHEN WORKSHOP in Mallorca, we design, manufacture, and install every project with the vision of how that kitchen will be used for years.
If you’re considering materials for your countertop and don’t know which to choose, we can help you make a well-informed and peaceful decision.
